The eighth module of the One Year Training Programme for Afghanistan Week 8 will cover the topic of From design to implementation: Institutions for employment policies and will take place in New Delhi from 16 to 20 October 2017.

Information on the programme:

The course, composed of 8 one-week module, aims at building capacities among government officials, social partners and other relevant stakeholders on the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of effective National Employment Policies and other related subjects. Week 1 took place in New Delhi in February 2017.

By the end of the training programme participants will have acquired:
• Knowledge of key concepts related to employment policy with emphasis in situations of fragility;
• capacity to actively participate in processes of formulating gender-sensitive employment policies;
• capacity to implement employment policies through action planning;
• capacity to advocate and coordinate the integration of employment policies with development interventions.
In addition, participants will apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a group work aimed at developing customized employment projects as a means to move from fragility to resilience.

Information on the module:

The eighth module of the One Year Training Programme for Afghanistan Week 8 titled From design to implementation: Institutions for employment policies will cover the legal and institutional environment to implement employment policies; linkages of occupational safety and health, child labour with employment policies and institutional environments; and capacity development for
coordination, negotiation and advocacy of employment policies (intra and inter-ministerial); and final presentation of their team projects. By the end of the week participants will be familiar with the roles and mandate of institutions engaged in employment policies; will have acquired skills to advocate the importance of employment in the broader government actions; will have learned to align policies and programmes with the legal environment and institutional contexts, and will have learned how to present team projects to different stakeholders.
