The third module of the One Year Training Programme for Afghanistan Week 3 will cover the topic of Youth employment: from policy to action and will take place in Kabul from 15 to 19 April 2017.

Information on the programme:

The course, composed of 8 one-week module, aims at building capacities among government officials, social partners and other relevant stakeholders on the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of effective National Employment Policies and other related subjects. Week 1 took place in New Delhi in February 2017.

By the end of the training programme participants will have acquired:
• Knowledge of key concepts related to employment policy with emphasis in situations of fragility;
• capacity to actively participate in processes of formulating gender-sensitive employment policies;
• capacity to implement employment policies through action planning;
• capacity to advocate and coordinate the integration of employment policies with development interventions.
In addition, participants will apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a group work aimed at developing customized employment projects as a means to move from fragility to resilience.

Information on the module:

The third module of the One Year Training Programme for Afghanistan Week 3 on Youth employment: from policy to action will cover will cover Youth employment issues and challenges in the context of fragility; profiling who the youth are in Afghanistan; developing strategies and policies targeting tailored needs of the youth; budgeting and the team projects will work linking their respective projects to monitoring and evaluation frameworks. By the end of the week, participants will apply profiling and policy targeting to promote inclusive needs; will familiarize with profiling and policy targeting tools; will be empowered to advocate youth employment needs among stakeholders; and will be able to apply monitoring and evaluation tools in their respective team projects.
