ITCILO renews its commitment to promoting decent work and sustainable livelihoods for refugees and asylum-seekers in the framework of World Refugee Day 2019
The ITCILO has successfully launched the course “Access of refugees to the labour market and improving their resilience” with 37 practitioners joining from different public institutions from Turkey. This training activity was specifically co-designed by the Social Protection, Governance and Tripartism Programme (SPGT) and the Jobs for Peace and Resilience (JPR) Programme, to address the learning and operational needs of Turkish constituents currently involved in fostering labour market integration of refugees in the country.
With 37 participants, of which 56% are women, the training course explores best international practices on how to promote the design of concrete strategies to encourage market-driven livelihoods opportunities and foster economic integration of refugees through formalization and governance strategies.
Designed and delivered by an international pool of experts, this course reiterates the ITCILO’s efforts of standing by refugees in the framework of World Refugee Day 2019 which will be celebrated on 20 June 2019.
