ITCILO, the VV Giri National Labour Institute, ILO Kabul and ILO New Delhi renew their joint efforts to build capacities of ILO constituents in Afghanistan and India.
The course was successfully launched in New Delhi on Monday 06 May where 27 participants representing ILO constituents from Afghanistan and India were exposed to a range of notions, methods and tools to promote youth employment in situations of conflict and disaster. The course integrates four study visits reinforcing the south-south approach for cooperation and knowledge sharing.
By attending the course, participants will (i) Gain a better understanding of labour market challenges in countries affected by fragility, conflicts and disasters, (ii) Be exposed to the ILO’s normative and operational response including the recently endorsed Recommendation No. 205 on “Employment and decent work for peace and resilience”, (iii) Be exposed to effective strategies to promote youth employment programmes for peace and resilience building, through real life examples and stories from the field and (iv) Get access to tools and methodologies to promote employment and decent work for youth in fragile, conflict and disaster situations
