The project “Promoting rural youth employment in Afghanistan” was launched in the ITCILO during the Academy on South South and Triangular cooperation
On 11 July 2016, at the South-South and Triangular Collaboration Academy, Mr Ahmad Shah Salehi, Deputy Minister of MoLSAMD Afghanistan, Mr Yanguo Liu, Director of ITCILO and Mr. Virgilio Lavaggi, Director of PARDEV ILO have launched a major development cooperation project to promote more and better jobs for young women and men in the rural economy of Afghanistan.
The project will run for three years and is funded by the Government of Norway under the ILO-Norway Partnership agreement. The project will focus on:
- training and knowledge development for policy level stakeholders on youth employment policy design under conditions of fragility and
- training for local vocational training and technical education service providers, in order to provide skills and entrepreneurship training to young women and me
After the official presentation of the project, H. E. Salehi participated in a round of preliminary meetings to define the project implementation plan for the next two years.
