The second training for Coaches in Ethiopia starts today in Addis Abeba. The training concludes the three-months long certification process for coaches envisioned by ITCILO, and is the third component of the process after a first face-to-face training which took place in September, and a distance learning phase administered through an online learning platform called eCampus.
26 participants have been invited back to this second workshop, and will work their way towards the final certification awarded by ITCILO. The lead trainers are internationally certified coaches.
The programme is offered by ITCILO in cooperation with the EU-funded ILO project ‘Support to the reintegration of returnees in Ethiopia’, and is also funded by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency. It has been designed for the specific context of providing coaching and mentoring services to returnees, with a focus on youth, and it will provide follow-up and support to beneficiaries, with the intention that the targeted participants will be more successful in starting and growing their business. At the heart of the programme is the issue of the psychological impact of stress and anxiety facing a new entrepreneur living and working in high degrees of risk and uncertainty.
Mr. George Okutho – Director of the ILO Country Office for Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan and Special Representative to the African Union (AU) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), will award the certificate and officially close the workshop on Friday.
